Story::Song::Life Launch

It’s been awhile. My apologies. So much has been going on, and I’m excited to tell you about how it’s all taking shape!

For starters, remember how I told you to mark your calendars for February 6th? Well…I lied. We actually ended up rescheduling the event for February 20th. So…remark your calendars! I’m sorry that it’s taken me so long to update you with all the details, but I’m excited to let you in on them now! In an earlier post I mentioned that our hope was to create a “sustainable event that reaches out into the artist community and creates a forum for songwriters and artists of all sorts.” After several weeks of prayer and discussion, we’ve solidified several things, including much of our long-term vision as well as our heart for the initial launch of this ministry.

I’ve joined forces with three dear friends and tremendous artists: Harry Walls, Christy Kelly, and Eric Bausell. Together, we will be launching Story::Song::Life, a multi-faceted ministry with a vision to create an atmosphere for spiritual conversations, a forum for artists and writers, and an opportunity for the community to converge through the arts. We believe that every single person is a part of  a great story, and we, as writers and musicians, want to tell our story- and ultimately, the story of the Gospel- through song. We each have a heart for the arts and feel as though we have been given a great platform through our music to make an impact for the Kingdom.

So, on February 20th, the first of (hopefully) many concerts will begin. Each concert will be in a “writers-in-the-round” format, and will feature 4-ish artists. We will be holding these concerts approximately every other month, incorporating various artists from the area at each concert. Aside from the musical side of things, we also want to be able to incorporate artists of other sorts. (i.e, photography, graphic design, painting, jewelry, underwater basket weaving etc…). We are hoping to be able to display artwork from local “visual artists,” at each concert as well. We believe in creating an event that unites artists of all mediums who may never have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.

The four of us met yesterday to finalize a few things, and I cannot tell you how excited I am about this event! There is something so compelling about being around fellow artists who are passionate about the cause of Christ. If you think about it,  continue to pray for us and for the final details for the first Story::Song::Life.

And if you’re in the area, definitely head out to the Doxa (at West Hills Community Church) on February 20th at 7 pm to hear the “founding four” play. We want to share our story with you!!  And we want to hear your story too! If you are an artist of any sort and would be interested in being a part of Story::Song::Life, shoot us an e-mail @ We’re already booking for the next one, so let us know you’re out there!!

“…and although we each have our own story, a great adventure emerges when we bring them all together as one.”  -EPCOT Intercom Man

We spent all day moving chairs, rearranging furniture, setting up a cafe, displaying art, sound checking, praying, etc..It was a long day, but it was so good. And there is absolutely no way we could have done it without all of our friends and family who contributed to the event in countless ways. Thanks to… […]
